Coach Donnie Carter

As dedicated to Smyrna High School football as anyone who as graced these halls, Donnie Carter will always be remembered for this many years of service. Following his days as a Bulldog player (1961-1963), Donnie served as a member of the support staff for the many years. He continued to volunteer for the next 5 decades, walking the sidelines as keeper of Bulldog statistics. Additionally, as father of the area's youth, football program, which he founded in 1969, Donnie Carter created a much-needed feeder system for Smyrna which, in his words, "taught a little about football and a lot about life"

Dennis Johnson

After hanging up his basketball shoes and football cleats as a graduate of SHS in 1968, Johnson has continued to support Smyrna athletics. Through the many positions at Smyrna, primarily as a volunteer, football as been his focus, and having been connected to the program for over 50 years his dedication is unquestioned. However, Johnson, has also contributed, time and effort to the success of Smyrna basketball, swimming, softball, baseball, over the years. In the recognition of his service to the community, Johnson was honored by the town of Smyrna with a 2016 coon victory lifetime achievement award.

Danny Brewer

A 1985 graduate of Smyrna High School. As a journalist, Danny has covered Bulldogs Athletics since 1994. He has also supported SHS athletics financially through his business, Dr. Automotive, as well as being the founder of the Troy Flippen Foundation in 2020, which raises money for Smyrna athletics. Danny given his time as a volunteer assistant with SHS Swimming since 2000, acting as an official scorer, finish judge, and spearheading various fundraising efforts. He has served as SHS Baseball Booster Club president, and as a summer coach for SHS and the SHS Baseball feeder program.

Robert "Bud" Raikes

Bud Raikes' decorated athletic career that ended in 1956 was followed by a stellar tenure a coach and a mentor to many athletes. Still the all-time leader in wins as the boys' basketball coach, and widely recognized as a football mastermind, for over a decade Raikes's bulldogs struck fear into the hearts of the opposition. After stepping into administration in 1974. Raikes ushered in the modern era of SHS athletics. As principal, Raikes', undying devotion to his alma mater producer many Bulldog legends and many sports enjoyed unrivaled success.
